If you’ve ever been on the rowing machine at the gym, you know it gives you a good workout. 1,500 metres of effort is more than enough for most of us. So, imagine the strength of both body and mind necessary to conquer not a mere 1,500 metres on dry land, but 3,000 miles of open ocean. No wonder we were moved to lend our support to a team aiming to do just that!
Incredible challenge ahoy!
Meet team Blue Tusk, four guys who are planning to take compete in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in 2023. It’s an event dubbed ‘The World’s Toughest Row’ and involves the team rowing from the Canary Islands English Harbour in Antigua & Barbuda. Oh, and it’s unsupported, so they will take everything they need with them.
Blue Tusk are rising to this once-in-a-lifetime challenge to raise awareness and funds for two terrific charities: Tusk and Blue Marine Foundation. Tusk is focussed on advancing conservation across Africa, while Blue Marine Foundation is a charity dedicated to restoring the ocean to health by addressing overfishing.
Procol are proud to join our client Vodafone in sponsoring Blue Tusk, and we wish Aaron, Andy, Chris and David a swift and safe row.
Meanwhile, back on dry land…
At Procol, the challenges we embrace are often technical rather than physical. For example, we design and deliver turnkey solutions for complex technical environments including data centres, computer rooms, telecoms facilities and supporting offices.
Like Blue Tusk, we have a capable and experienced crew, with design, planning, project management and M&E expertise all in house. This enables us to navigate the challenges of even the most technically demanding projects – and get them across the line on schedule, on budget, and on or even beyond the brief.
