Brief: To manage the mechanical and electrical elements of the construction of a new £8-million energy centre and data hall, in partnership with construction company Richardson (Nyewood) Limited.

Project value: £6 million

Scope of works (all N+1 redundancy)

  • Management of the installation of two new 3.5mVA generators and fuel systems, future-proofed for two further sets (specialist)

  • Management of the installation of HV cabling and transformers

  • Management of the installation of UPS systems

  • Installation of extensive bus-bar distribution, 1250amp to 5000amp around the energy centre and across into the main building

  • Provision of N+1 UPS systems

  • Installation of switchgear and LV cabling
  • M&E fit out of the 20-rack hosting facility from a bare shell

  • Installation of Airedale and Denco air conditioning systems to UPS rooms and data hall, including fresh air free-cooling systems as the primary cooling source

  • Small lighting and power
